Teleportation Device

Listen to this craziness! Fostermomma says I'm going on a big adventure tomorrow and we probably won't see each other again for a little while - WAH?!? She says that big blue box behind me, my teleportation device, is going to take me to a place called the "East Coast" where there's a lot of water and I won't have to wear that stupid Lector thing on my pretty face anymore.

She says I'm going to meet and live with, some really nice people and I'm gonna have a foster (forever?) sister who's my age and more my speed. I like the sounds of that!

I thought I should inspect my magic crate before signing any paperwork agreeing to all this. BUT, then I got a better idea - send the Walrus instead. Can never be too safe with these things, ya know?

Smelt a little "off", but nothing bad happened.

So, I gave it a shot myself - except this time fostermomma shut the door and fed me cookies. I didnt mind that much - she makes a mean PB cookie!

The Walrus got cookies too.

I'm going to miss fostermomma and The Walrus, but am even more excited for my new beginnings! Can't wait to meet my new friends and family!!!

This is Winnie, signing off - over and out!

Fashion Family Funday

This isn't happening. It can't be happening. I'm so embarrassed.  Momma had cookies and Winnie fell for it!  She'll never learn...

It's happening, Walrus - just go with it. Don't you think I look pretty?  Pretty in pink.  Its my favorite color and this scarf is so soft.  I feel like a lady!

Alright, I'll pose - you get 5 shots - don't waste 'em!  And, I want double however many cookies you're paying her.  I still can't believe this...

Strike a pose.  We be stylin'.

Interior Design

Winnie tends to get bored rather easialy, especially when no one is watching. Sometimes she steals toilet paper rolls and clothes. This morning, she did this!

The chair is usually in the corner of the room.

She was mighty proud of herself...

Sitting proudly on our recently relocated throne.

Must See Movie: Beyond The Myth

Yesterday afternoon, amongst friends, pit bull advocates and lovers, I sat down at the Hyland Theater in London to watch the screening of Beyond The Myth. Produced by "Cover Y'All Productions", Beyond the Myth (from the website) is a film about pit bulls and those who love and defend the breed. It explores the contributing factors behind the public's generalized fear of pit bulls and examines the conflict existing between advocates and opponents of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). It also investigates the myths associated with the breed and asks the question, "What exactly is a pit bull"? Beyond the Myth challenges the idea that pit bulls are inherently vicious and goes one-on-one with people on both sides of this controversial issue.

Watch the trailer.

The film was eye opening and heartbreaking - I think we all shed a few tears. Sometimes our messages get lost in our emotions, but the film did a good job of remaining factual and educational. The film exposes media bias and challenged perceptions.

I left the theater inspired to do more. Anyone who loves dogs, and anyone who is in favor of BSL, should see this movie.

Welcome to the ADR Family, Maurice!

This is Moe (Maurice, if we're being formal)!

Moe's former owners called a shelter late at night and left a message that they couldn't keep him anymore. Shelter staff found Moe abandoned in their outdoor enclosure the following morning. Can you believe it?

At first, Moe was confused and withdrawn, but shelter staff nursed his broken soul back to health. Moe now spends his days on his bed in the office making bad smells.

Moe passed his assessment with flying colors and we couldn't be happier to welcome him to the family!

This old man has a lot of life left in him and we're going to make sure he spends it well!
